Warner Bros. sets release date for Richard Jewell of Clint Eastwood
Warner Bros. Pictures announced that Clint eastwoodRichard Jewell's upcoming biographical drama will hit theaters on December 13 this year. The film joins a packed release date, which also includes Jumanji: The Next Level, Black Christmas, Terence Malick's A Hidden Life, Amazon's Seberg, and A24's Uncut Gems. Given the date, however, the studio is already preparing to promote the drama as a nominee for awards.

Based on Marie Brenner's 1997 Vanity Fair article, "American Nightmare: The Ballad of Richard Jewell," and directed and produced by Eastwood, Richard Jewell will tell the true story of the innocent security that helped save lives during the 1996 Olympic bombing. in Atlanta, which was later charged with planning the attack. Eric Robert Rudolph pleaded guilty to the crime, along with several other attacks, in 2005.
I, Paul Walter Hauser of Tonya, will act as the titular Jewell with Sam Rockwell appearing as his lawyer. Kathy Bates will take on the role of Jewell's mother, with Jon Hamm and Olivia Wilde also appearing.
Following Disney's takeover of Fox, the studio removed many upcoming films from its lists that it did not consider primordial for box office success, but instead of canceling the Jewell project, House of Mouse started discussions with Warner Bros. to send the movie their way. Warner Bros. It has been almost the exclusive home of Eastwood filmography as an actor and director.
