A man was killed by Florida security forces this Friday after opening fire at a naval base, killing two people and injuring several others.
The incident took place at the Pensacola Naval Base in Florida.
The base was closed and authorities rushed to the scene to try to resolve the matter. A warning and order was issued for all those at the base to take shelter but a few minutes before 2 pm a message from the local squad was issued saying that the gunman had been killed.
This shooting takes place just two days after another shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii. In this case the shooter was a US Navy military man who killed two civilian workers and wounded a third before committing suicide.
According to various messages shared on social networks, some by media, in addition to the shooter is mourning a deadly victim and at least a dozen injured. CNN cites authorities sources as telling the deaths of two people besides the gunman, and also mentions "several injured".
According to CNN, the Pensacola naval base employs more than 16,000 military personnel and 7,400 civilians, with many families still living within the base.
