Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 9 Recap

In the previous episode of Cartoon Network, Rick and MortyRick humiliated Morty and accepted his bet on the acid content. In episode 9 of the fourth season of Rick and Morty, Rick interrupted a family camp to see a planet he had gotten pregnant.

Gaia and Reggie

Jerry, Beth, Summer, Morty and Rick were in the car on their way to camp. However, Rick received a call from Gaia about the children he fathered. Beth insisted that he take responsibility, so Rick took the car and brought them to a planet. He had sex with a planet.

Gaia was vomiting clay humanoids that looked like Rick, and Beth teamed up with Rick to look after them. Together, Beth and Rick classified clay people into roles to form a society. Rick's ultimate goal was to get them into space. However, just as Rick and Beth were christening their civilization, Reggie appeared as a cloud. Gaia confirmed that Reggie was indeed the father.

Video games and parties

Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 9 Recap

Summer and Morty did not want to camp. Summer was missing a party and Morty was glued to his video game. While Beth and Rick separated the clay people, Jerry took them out to camp. However, Summer blew up on Jerry, who left. Morty and Summer wandered through the forest and realized they had no survival skills.

Fortunately, they found a wrecked ship. Inside, Morty compared the buttons to his video games, and Summer discovered the aliens' shared knowledge stored on a bong-like device. They used video games and parties to make the transportation work again. However, they were unable to control it, but ended up saving Rick from Reggie, who was a Zeus. Rick was losing in his epic fight, but the spaceship flew straight to Reggie, killing him.

The unproductive

Beth and Rick had resolved what they considered "the unproductive" to be a pipe in the back. After Summer hurt Jerry's feelings about camping, Jerry found himself in the unproductive pipeline. The unproductive listened to Jerry as he taught them to camp, and he became their leader. Jerry taught the unproductive that clay people in civilization were bad.

Jerry and the unproductive fell for the civilization ceremony. He became their Moses, separating the sea and causing plagues. While Rick dealt with Reggie, Beth dealt with Jerry and the unproductive. When Reggie's body collapsed on civilization, Gaia destroyed most of the clay people. Rick flew in the spaceship to save Jerry, Beth and some of the unproductive ones. Rick left the unproductive with the spaceship, but put a tracking device on it, as they suspected that Gaia would send them after him for revenge.
