Everton football director Marcel Brands spoke to angry fans who showed up at the club's training camp on Monday following the FA Cup defeat against Liverpool.
A small group of fans traveled to Finch Farm, trying to confront the players after they lost 1-0 to Liverpool in Anfield on sunday afternoon.
The fans wanted to meet players who were training at the time, but Brands made the decision to walk to the compound gate and hear their complaints.
The incident occurred after Everton midfielder Fabian Delph was allegedly involved in a heated exchange with a fan on social networks following the defeat.
Everton, who have not won the Merseyside derby in 20 years, lost to Liverpool's young team on Sunday, with 18-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones scoring Jurgen Klopp's team winner.
It was a second straight loss for the Toffees following New Year's defeat at Manchester City.
They were the first losses since Carlo Ancelotti took command on December 21, and the Italian said the performance at Anfield was "not good enough" and he spoke to his players about the required standards.
Everton, 11th in the Premier League, host Brighton on Saturday.
