In the last 24 hours, the Directorate-General for Health recorded eight more deaths and 229 infected with Covid-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has registered an accumulated total of 42,141 positive cases, of which 27,505 have recovered, which means that more than half of patients with Covid-19 (65%) have recovered from the disease.
There are currently 13,060 active cases, which represents a slight decrease compared to yesterday.
Of the 229 new cases registered, 188 are in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (82%). As for fatalities, five were recorded in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, two in Alentejo and one in the North.
According to the daily bulletin, there are currently 491 people hospitalized with Covid-19, 73 in Intensive Care Units.
Still due to the information provided by health authorities, the overall mortality rate remains at 3.7%, rising to 16.3% in patients over 70 years of age.

At least 5,187,300 cases were considered cured by health authorities.
