During the current health emergency period due to the pandemic,
the European Parliament provided an administrative building to accommodate
homeless people.

The institution also offered a canteen to prepare more than
thousand meals a day to distribute to homeless people, but also to
Health professionals.

In a video message released this Wednesday, the president of the
European Parliament, the Italian David Sassoli, justified the decision.

"We want to be close to those who suffer, those who work
tirelessly in our hospitals, the citizens of Brussels and the citizens
Strasbourg and Luxembourg, the cities that receive us and that need
our help today. Europe's strength lies in its ability to act in
solidarity, "said Sassoli.

Before, the European Parliament had already made available to the
100 vehicles for the transport of personnel or health material.

Along the same lines of solidarity, the European Parliament has also put
part of its facilities in France available to the French authorities
Strasbourg to be transformed during the crisis into a screening center and
medical consultations in the context of combating the coronavirus.
