The Beira Baixa Intermunicipal Community (CIMBB) was awarded the Cluster Turismo Extremadura 2019 Annual Prize, awarded by the Cluster Turismo de Extremadura – Innovative Business Group of Spain.
The award ceremony will take place this Tuesday, December 3, in Cáceres, in the region of Extremadura.
The awarding of the prize to the Portuguese region is justified “by the creation of new tourism products, by the latest tourism promotion campaigns in Spain and Portugal, and by the construction of bridges in a semi-border territory between the two regions, such as Extremadura and Beira Baixa ”.
Luís Pereira, president of CIMBB, is pleased that “we are honoring a distinction that we are very proud of” and explains that it is “an important recognition by a neighboring body of the work that the Beira Intermunicipal Community Baixa is developing in tourism ”.
As an example of this work, Luís Pereira highlights the project “Beira Baixa Três Dias. Three Experiences ", through which" is intended to structure the entire tourism offer of Beira Baixa, also deepening cross-border cooperation ”.
In addition, the promotion and dissemination of the “Centro Central de Portugal” brand through the enhancement of Beira Baixa products; the promotion of a communication plan to increase the projection and external recognition of tourism products in Beira Baixa and Central Portugal and the creation of a mobile application "Visit Beira Baixa", which allows to explore and better know the territory .
Cluster Turismo de Extremadura is a private Spanish business association that works to innovate and improve tourism competitiveness in the region. Every year, the network awards public or private institutions, national or foreign companies that stand out in the tourism development of the region where they operate.
On receipt of this award, CIMBB succeeds the General Directorate of Tourism of the Board of Extremadura and the company “Gastro Dehesa”, winners of the 2018 edition.
